Tammany Together Membership Meeting January 28, 2008

Below is a slightly expanded version of the Press Release that went out yesterday.  Remember that everyone is welcome to attend even if they are not members.  We particularly want to remind delegates of homeowner and umbrella organizations that all members of their organizations are welcome to both attend the meetings and to serve on committees.

NOTE THAT THE MEETING DATE IS JANUARY 28TH.

Please distribute this notice as widely as possible.  We believe that it is very important that St. Tammany residents learn about the Comprehensive Rezoning process since it will define the future growth of the parish.

PARISH PLANNING DIRECTOR TO EXPLAIN COMPREHENSIVE REZONING OF ST. TAMMANY PARISH AT TAMMANY TOGETHER QUARTERLY MEMBERSHIP MEETING

The next quarterly General Membership Meeting of Tammany Together will be held on Monday, January 28, 2008. Parish Director of Planning Sidney Fontenot will make a presentation on the parish’s comprehensive rezoning process at this meeting. Mr. Fontenot will discuss the new Unified Development Code, explain how the new code differs from the zoning code presently in effect, and how it will be applied across the parish. It is important that the citizens of St. Tammany understand this process so that they can be prepared to participate in this very important task. The public is invited to attend, so please plan to attend and invite anyone who might be interested.

The meeting will be held at the North Shore Unitarian Universalist church located at 28662 Krentel Road, just north of the intersection of I-12 and Highway 434 in Lacombe. Doors will open at 6:00 PM, and the meeting will begin at 6:30 PM. A map showing the location of the meeting is available at http://www.tammanytogether.org/files/NSUUC.jpg .

Active participation in Tammany Together by members of homeowners associations is encouraged, although only individual members and delegates of groups may cast votes.  No proxy voting is allowed.  Prospective members are encouraged to attend the meeting to learn more about Tammany Together.  Membership applications may be downloaded from the group’s web site at http://www.tammanytogether.org/membership.  Applications will also be available at the meeting and individuals and groups may join Tammany Together before the meeting begins
