Tammany Together is in urgent need of additional members to serve on its Nominating and Audit Committees!

Elections to the Tammany Together Board of Directors will be held at our General Membership Meeting on April 21, 2008. Our bylaws require a Nominating Committee consisting of five people, two of whom shall be Directors and three of whom shall be Delegates, Alternate Delegates, or Individual Members. We need two more non-board members to serve on this committee NOW. No special qualifications are required, other than an interest in Tammany Together and a willingness to help fill out our board with qualified members by serving on this committee for approximately two months, starting immediately.

Our bylaws also require an Audit Committee to audit Tammany Together’s financial records prior to our April meeting. The Audit Committee consists of three Tammany Together members, none of whom may be a sitting board member. The chair of the Audit Committee will present the results of the audit to the General Membership at our April meeting. We need two more non-board members to briefly serve on this committee during late March and/or early April. Members of Group or Umbrella Member organizations are eligible to serve, and Delegates are encouraged to canvass their membership for possible Audit Committee members. An accounting degree or CPA designation is not required, but some familiarity with accounting procedures and reporting would be appropriate. The Audit Committee will be active for roughly one month preceding our April meeting. Our accounting is performed using QuickBooks, and the necessary reports and records are readily available.
