We have added a link to the new Preliminary FEMA Digital Flood Insurance Rate Map (DFIRM) for St. Tammany Parish to the "Useful Information" section of the Tammany Together Links page at http://www.tammanytogether.org/links/#DFIRM

This is an interactive map that lets you zero in on a location to see what FEMA is recommending as the new Advisory Base Flood Elevation for that location, which will determine flood insurance rates for that location once the parish officially adopts the map. We have also included links to instructional videos and printed instructions on how to use the map and interpret what it portrays.

Keep in mind that this information is preliminary and will undergo public review and comment before it becomes official. There’s an open house next Wednesday, June 25, from 2:00 - 8:00PM at William Pitcher Junior High, 415 S. Jefferson Street in Covington for the public to review the new maps.
