Tammany Together's quarterly General Membership Meeting will be held on Monday, July 21, 2008. The meeting will be held at the North Shore Unitarian Universalist Church located at 28662 Krentel Road, just north of the intersection of I-12 and Highway 434 in Lacombe. At this meeting, the League of Women Voters, which spearheaded an effort to develop a list of proposed changes to the Parish's Home Rule Charter, will present the proposed changes and ask for feedback and additional ideas from the attendees. Tammany Together and several citizens not affiliated with either organization were part of the committee that worked on this effort. The committee has been working hard to spread the word about the proposals and to seek additional information from the public regarding possible changes to the Charter.

The Parish Council will conduct a Public Hearing on Wednesday, July 30 at 7:00 PM at the Parish Council Chambers, located at 21490 Koop Drive in Mandeville, to discuss the proposed changes and to take public input about these and any other additional changes citizens may have. Business items to be addressed at this meeting include approving the budget for the year.
